The new Toyota bZ4X’s base XLE grade is rated for an EPA-estimated range of up to 252 miles when using the standard single electric motor with front-wheel drive, and the AWD dual-motor setup gets XLE an estimated 228 miles of range. The 2024 Toyota bZ4X’s Limited model produces an EPA-estimated range of up to 236 miles with the FWD single electric motor and up to 222 miles of range when adding the dual electric motor with all-wheel drive.

The 2024 Toyota bZ4X comes with a standard single electric motor with front-wheel drive or an available dual electric motor with all-wheel drive. Using the single-motor FWD setup, the new Toyota bZ4X’s entry-level XLE grade gets the best gas mileage at up to an EPA-estimated 119 MPGe combined, and opting for the AWD setup on XLE results in a slightly reduced fuel economy rating of 104 MPGe combined. The 2024 Toyota bZ4X’s Limited model is rated for an EPA-estimated 112 MPGe combined with FWD and up to 102 MGPe combined with AWD.

2024 Toyota bZ4X Battery and Charging

All 2024 Toyota bZ4X models are equipped with a J1772/CCS1 connector that allows for Level 3 DC fast charging and Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging, and the 7.6 kW onboard charger can charge the SUV from low battery light to full in about 9.5 hours with a Level 2 charger at 240V. Level 2 charging provides approximately 20 miles of range per hour of charge and can fully charge the battery when plugged in overnight. For 2024, a ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 home charging option can be added and comes with a 23-foot charging cable to support different parking configurations.

For 2024, the Toyota bZ4X adds several new features focused on convenience and charging capability. A dual-voltage charging cable now comes standard on all models and provides a portable option for Level One and Level Two charging. New charge information, such as estimated vehicle range and charging times, will now be displayed on the fully digital Multi-Information Display, and one year of complimentary charging through EVgo’s nationwide charging network is included with the lease or purchase of the 2024 Toyota bZ4X, which features over 950 fast charging locations across more than 35 states.
